about bryant furnishing
Carole Bryant started working from home in 1970 making simple curtains and curtain alterations. She used her practical skills, common sense, and a natural flair for art and design. With a husband, 4 children, cats and horses, plenty of determination was another vital ingredient!
The business soon started to grow and in 1978 Mr and Mrs Bryant purchased the shop at 136 Alma Road.
The shop used to be a hairdressers and next door was a post office. Today the post office has been replaced with flats but Bryant Furnishing still stands strong on the corner of Heron Court Road and Alma Road with it's tarmac car park off the Heron Court Road side.
Being on a busy cross roads with traffic lights, many people pass every day admiring the well-styled window displays which can be seen from all directions.
Over the years different members of the family have been involved and today, after 10 years experience, youngest daughter Anne is her mother's business partner.
