Award winning windows

We are glad to be back to work after a lovely break for Christmas and New year. Christmas is a really busy time for us at BF, many of our customers want their home to look its best for the hordes of family that come at this festive time, and for the friends that stay that little bit longer and eat all the best quality street first! We are the same when it comes to our shop, we always try to make our Christmas window really spectacular. This year was no different but we had the opportunity to enter the Bournemouth Chamber of Trade and Commerce Christmas 2014 window competition. We are pleased to report that we came first runner up!!! We were awarded a certificate and trophy by Mandy Payne from the Chamber.

We would like to thank Elaine and Carole who made the beautiful curtains, chair covers, stockings and even some decorations for the tree!! Marcus who lent us a wood burner, Rona for her skis, Suzy for her ice skates, and everyone who took the time to vote. It was really fun, I think we will definitely be entering next year…..

Voyage of Discovery Window Display

Window displays are such fun to do, and our new summer window has been especially so. Sanderson’s Voyage of Discovery’ pays homage to our pioneering ancestors, from the natural historians of the 17th century who beautifully illustrated their scientific discoveries, to the leisure traveller of the later Victorian era who collected memoirs of their journeys with which to decorate their homes. These images still excite us today and evoke a sense of adventure and freedom.

Summer is coming…

The time is here to be spending long balmy evenings in the garden, with the fun of BBQ’s and an ice cold gin and tonic in hand. But like any space in your home it probably needs a little tlc to look and feel like the Zen space you deserve. Last year Casamance launched a collection of outdoor fabrics. Outdoor fabrics you cry, why would I need such a thing! But when you get your old patio cushions out and brush off the mould you may consider upgrading. The Cala Rosa fabrics will never fade due to the UV resistance. They will not get mouldy and are waterproof against salt and chlorinated water. You can of course use these fabrics inside of the home, it would keep your fabrics looking brand new, especially where you have pets or small children. Perfect fabric for any time of the year.
