This was our Christmas window for 2017. Our designer, Marlaine, went with a retro theme using velvets in rich colours and vintage pieces of furniture, accessories and lighting. The Sputnik light was kindly loaned from a local vintage shop and is an original 1950s light. The chairs were purchased from another local vintage shop, Decades of Design and re-upholstered in a Kirkby design quilted velvet by our upholsterer Luke. The wallpaper is a stunning quilted design with a suede texture. It’s so soft to the feel. This wallpaper is by Arte and is sold by the metre. It has excellent acoustic properties, ideal for echoing hallways or cinema rooms. The collection is available to view in our store and offers a range of different designs and colours.
We really enjoy designing and furnishing our shop windows but the Christmas one is always special. We make a great effort every year to think of something different that will capture the eye of passers by. We know our window displays are much appreciated by members of our local community because they normally pop their head through the door to tell us. The window was professionally photographed by Phil of Harbourview Photography. The best photo was then published into Christmas cards to give to our customers, suppliers, friends and colleagues.
